Satnam Singh: Bollywood celebs congratulate the basketball player

Indian sports personalities have often made India proud at national and international levels. The latest feather in India's cap is Satnam Singh Bhamara joining the NBA. Satnam has become the first Indian to be drafted by the NBA after he was selected by the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Draft. The 19-year-old has become the talk of the town because of his presence in the court in NBA circles. He is seven feet two inches tall and weighs above 131 kg. Bollywood celebs took to Twitter to congratulate him on this achievement. Here’s what they wrote…

According to a report, Satnam started playing basketball after the age of 9 and his selection has opened new doors for many basketball players in our country.

Actor Abhishek Bachchan, who has always been a basketball enthusiast and recently played in the NBA All Star Celebrity match as India's Goodwill ambassador of the league, congratulated Satnam Singh on Twitter and Instagram.

According to a report, though Satnam was not very good at speaking English, he was awarded a scholarship at the prestigious IMG academy, after which he made his way to the United States at the age of 15.
