'Shivaay' trimmed, abridged version released

Ajay Devgn is doing all he can to ensure 'Shivaay' aces the box office collections race this Diwali. So if it means, he has to go back to the edit table, to discard a few scenes here and there to shorten the length of his film, he will do it. Infact, he has done it. In an unprecedented move, actor and filmmaker Ajay Devgn has reportedly gone back to the edit table to shorten the length of his film that is already running at cinemas. This move ensures more shows for 'Shivaay' at cinema screens. Reports suggest a good 10-12 mins of the film have been chopped off. However, speaking to a daily, the makers of the film let in that the running time of the film has been reduced by 7 mins only. he makers said that they received tremendous response from theatres across India, the distributors reached out to them and requested them to adjust the length to better suit the timings, which could lead to more number of shows. Paying heed to these demands, "the film has now been made more pacey, and all theaters will play the abridged version from today."

Emotional father-daughter bonding

Apart from being a good action entertainer, the soul of the film lies in the beautiful bond between Shivaay (played by Ajay) and his eight-year-old daughter Gaura who is a mute girl. The way he single-handedly takes care of her, their camaraderie and of course, the way Ajay battles against all odds to free his daughter from the web of child trafficking will surely strike a chord.
