Now, an old interview of Jaya Bachchan has been doing rounds the internet where she said that she would have slapped Shah Rukh Khan. Well, before you make any conclusions, here's what happened exactly.

Reportedly, after Salman Khan's brawl on the sets of 'Chalte Chalte', SRK ousted Ash from the film and Rani Mukerji replaced her. And in 2008, a fight took place between the two superstars at Katrina Kaif's birthday where Shah Rukh allegedly made some rough remarks about Aishwarya.

In an interview, in the same year, Jaya Bachchan was asked about the equation she shares with 'Zero' actor and about his alleged remarks against Aishwarya. Talking about her equation, she said that Abhishek invited Shah Rukh for the premiere of his film 'Drona' saying that it will make a huge difference if Khan graces the event. Sr Mrs Bachchan said that it was gracious of SRK for attending the premiere. She also added that she has a weakness for Khan.

Further, talking about Shah Rukh Khan's remarks against Aishwarya, she said that she obviously holds it against him and she never got the opportunity to discuss the same with him. She also stated that if SRK would have been at her home, she would have slapped him, just like her own son. However, she has connected with him in her soul and that solves everything.

Speaking about the same on Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, Jaya had said, "I think it is very cheap. I am his wife, and it would be a pity if I start questioning him. It is not important. Now I react a little to the press because my son is involved and my daughter is grown up. I tend to get a bit upset when they write things, but sometimes, I am sorry but I wouldn't mind resorting to 'Dharmendra' tactics."

Being in the same profession, they often worked together and apparently fell in love during one of their films, Zanjeer. MP and actress Jaya Bachchan also shared her opinion on the same and said in an interview with Times Now, "It was insensitive, it was commercial. It was not a social issue. How are you making this guy into some kind of a celebrity? He was like a celebrity, suddenly everyone is discussing him. She (reporter) got what she wanted, she got the eyeballs. I feel very hurt, violated, insulted."

Jaya Bachchan is known for voicing her opinions. The actress spoke about her son, Abhishek Bachchan's performance in the hit film Happy New Year. According to report on Mid-day.com, at a literary event, Jaya expressed her view on Abhishek's acting. She said that HNY was one of the most nonsensical films that she has seen in recent years and she watched it because her son was a part of it. The report further quoted the actress saying that she told her son he was a great actor to have done such work in front of the camera. While she was caught in controversy for her statement, it seems like she meant it in good spirit.
