Shraddha Kapoor's mother organises ‘Half Girlfriend’ special screening

Shivangi Kolhapure organised a special screening of her daughter Shraddha Kapoor's upcoming movie ‘Half Girlfriend’. The proud mama sent out invitations to a few close friends and family members to attend the screening on Thursday, 18th May.

The romantic flick has been creating a lot of buzz because it brings together Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor for the first time on-screen. The film based on Chetan Bhagat's book by the same name, sees Shraddha essaying the role of an up-town girl from Delhi, fond of playing basketball and passionate about singing.

The film directed by Mohit Suri hits theatres today, May 19, 2017.

‘Half Girlfriend’ director Mohit Suri misjudged Arjun Kapoor as an actor

According to a report on IANS, film director Mohit Suri said that "I didn't know Arjun earlier. I thought he was the son of a producer, didn't perceive anything in life, so he thought of becoming an actor."

The director's perception about the actor changed only after meeting him when he met him for his film 'Half Girlfriend'.

"Arjun was a fat child with no girlfriend, so then he lost weight. He then auditioned under the strict procedure of selecting actors. He auditioned and got through," Suri added.
He even added that the 'Half Girlfriend' role in the movie is very much similar to the actor's real life as the emotional impulses matched the character’s requirement which he was looking out for.
