Bajrangi Bhaijaan becomes the fastest Rs 100 crore film

Eid has once again turned out to be lucky for Salman Khan. The first-day collections of Bajrangi Bhaijaan has broken the record of Salman Khan's last year's release, Kick, and Aamir Khan's, PK. According to a statement released by Eros International and Salman Khan Films, Bajrangi Bhaijaan has earned Rs 102.60 crore in three days. On Friday, July 17, the film earned Rs 27.25 crore, Saturday, July 18, it made Rs 36.60 crore and on Sunday, July 19, the film minted Rs 38.75 crore. The cumulative collections have shot the graph through the roof making the film, the fastest film to cross the coveted Rs 100 crore mark.

PK: According to a report on Boxofficeindia.com, Rajkumar Hirani’s directorial venture, PK, was the highest grosser in the following seven circuits after two weeks - Mumbai, Delhi / UP, East Punjab, CP Berar, CI, Mysore and West Bengal. The film had generated a rush at the box-office, which was evident from its opening day collections. The weekend collections were also impressive and the film crossed the coveted Rs 100 crore mark in no time. An elated Anushka tweeted, "I am literally in tears reading the overwhelming love & response you guys have shown for PK & us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart." [sic]

Happy New Year: Shah Rukh Khan's Diwali release Happy New Year joined the bandwagon of fastest 100 crore movies of Bollywood. According to a report on Koimoi.com, HNY had collected approximately Rs 82.67 crore on its first Saturday. According to a Red Chillies press note, the film had managed to touch the coveted Rs 100 crore mark over the first weekend itself, grossing Rs 108.86 crore, with a break up of Rs 104.10 crore in Hindi, Rs 2.92 crore in Telugu and Rs. 1.84 crore in Tamil.
