Kamaal R Khan apologises on Twitter

The Vikram Bhatt and Kamaal R Khan controversy had taken a wild turn when the director started a campaign to block KRK off twitter and the latter in turn asked Twitter India to verify his account. But after all the drama it seems KRK's conscience has really stirred or his latest tweet says so. His latest tweet read, "I m sorry to all other Bollywood ppl also if I have hurt anyone by my statement or review. Today a new, very serious type of critic is born." So does this tweet mean that he is turning a new leaf or is it just another publicity stunt? Only time will tell.

Celebrities and their public apologies

Salman Khan: Salman Khan is undoubtedly controversy's favourite child. He landed in a soup on June 18 when he compared himself to a 'raped woman' during a media interaction at Mumbai's Mehboob Studios. He was asked about the gruelling training schedule that he underwent for his upcoming wrestler drama on which he said that it literally felt like a raped woman when he used to walk out of the ring after the vigorous shooting for almost six hours. He said he used to lift a 120 kg person and had to do it 10 times so that it could be captured from five different angles. Salman further said that he shouldn't have made such comments. Reports also say that Salman was apologetic about the comment and requested journalists not to use it. Needless to say, his statement landed him in a controversy, where he was asked to apologise for the 'rape woman' analogy. Papa Salim Khan once again came at his rescue and apologized on Salman's behalf. Earlier this year, Khan Sr had apologized on his son's behalf for his statement on Yakub Menon.

Arjit Singh: The extremely talented singer, Arijit Singh, who is the flavour of the season, had released an open letter to Salman Khan pleading him to retain his version of the song , which Salman later allegedly got recorded by another playback singer and removed Arijit's version from his next biggie, 'Sultan'. Arijit wrote an open letter seeking apology from Salman Khan. The singer had mentioned in the letter how he had been texting and calling Salman to apologise for (unintentionally) doing something at a recent concert that left him furious. The superstar supposedly felt insulted and allegedly vowed not to forgive Arijit if the grapvine is to be believed. The singer further stated that he, at every occasion, tried his best to make the superstar understand what had gone wrong that unfortunate night and even tried clearing his stance when he met Salman at Nita Ambani's party too, but Salman refused to pay any heed to his 'please' and 'sorry'. Finally, Salman reacted to this whole controversy, "In every film, there are lot of singers who sing; the director and the producer make the choice of who is going to be the best voice for the film. One voice was mine but that was also rejected, so why get so upset and so hurt. This is life," he said. Referring to Arijit as 'Smart,' Salman further added, "There should be a day when a person (actor) should say don't sing or sing. Smart ones don't turn out bright. Then smart comments ... Post... They don't... You come to know the intentions."

Akshay Kumar: Sometime back, Akshay Kumar's bodyguard had punched one of superstar's enthusiastic fans at the Mumbai airport. The fan, after seeing Akshay, got excited and followed him to click a selfie with him and in the bargain, got hit by actor's personal security guard. The video got viral and Akshay grabbed headlines for the wrong reasons, thanks to his bodyguard. However, the actor later responded to the incident and apologised to the fan who was punched by the superstar's bodyguard. The actor tweeted a long message wherein he clarified his stance saying that he didn't know what exactly happened at the airport and after being informed about the whole fracas, he reprimanded the bodyguard and gave him a warning to never misbehave with his fans. Akshay even apologised to his fan and said that he holds his fans and admirers in high esteem and will ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future.

Consequentially, Pakistan Censor Board banned all his movies from releasing in the country. However, the actor later apologized over his harsh statement against Pakistan.

Sunny Leone: Sometime back, there were jokes doing the rounds on Sunny Deol and Sunny Leone and the latter felt that she was to be blamed for that. Leone had later apologized to Deol for the jokes and even took the responsibility for them. Sunny wrote, "Mr. Sunny Deol, I just wanna say that I am so sorry, mujhe maaf kar do, kyunke itne horrible, weird jokes ho gaye aapke aur mere upar - meri wajah se. So I am sorry." (Please forgive me, because of the many horrible, weird jokes on you and me - it's all because of me)."
