‘Brothers’ trailer: Things we liked about it

Ever since the first look of Brothers was released, enthusiasts were awaiting the film’s first trailer. Well, the wait is over! The trailer of the film, which stars Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra, Jackie Shroff and Jacqueline Fernandez, is out. It’s a potpourri of action, romance and intense emotions. The film depicts the emotional journey of brothers - David Fernandes (Akshay Kumar) and Monty Fernandes (Sidharth Malhotra). Due to circumstances, they turn into fighters and soon find themselves standing against each other in the ring, in their fight for love, hatred and family. The finely-edited, 2 minutes 54 second long, trailer boasts of all the elements which will compel you to catch the film on August 14, 2015 when it releases in the theatres. Meanwhile, here’s what we liked about the trailer:

Akshay Kumar is intense: Brothers marks Akshay Kumar’s first-ever collaboration with Dharma Productions. We have seen the Khiladi Kumar play the action hero in the past too. However, Dharma Productions’ slick style of filmmaking presents a different side of the actor. He is punching hard but his enemies aren’t flying in the air. Also, he seems to be taking his opponent quite seriously, unlike most of his films, where his character is that of an over-confident hero who doesn’t bother with the baddies.

Sidharth Malhotra gets meaner: From playing Abhimanyu Singh in Student Of The Year to essaying a gangster’s role in Ek Villain, Sidharth Malhotra has evolved as an actor. And as far as the trailer of his next film Brothers is concerned, Sidharth Malhotra is a complete revelation. With this film, Sidharth seems to have raised the bar for himself. He is filled with vengeance and is meaner this time around. The hatred is indeed very strong and it is writ large on Sidharth’s face. We wonder if he gets to flaunt his charming smile in the film.

The suspense element: While the trailer tells you a lot about the film, not much has been revealed about the characters played by Jackie Shroff and Jacqueline Fernandez. The film keeps the suspense element intact throughout the trailer and keeps everyone guessing. Prior to the film’s release, keeping such things under wraps only helps generate more curiosity for the film. Well, we hope the film manages to keep the interest alive till its release.

Thunderous music: While the background score reminds you of Karan Malhotra’s previous film, Agneepath, it also perfectly suits the fast-paced trailer and makes it an exciting watch. A robust song playing in the background is the soul of the trailer. Powerful lyrics ‘Tere haathon mein karam hai tera, aur khoon karam hai tera, koi teer nishane se chooke na, jamke kadam rakhle’ pump you up to catch the intensely emotional film as soon as it releases!
