Co-produced and directed by Shreya Talpade, upcoming film 'Poster Boys' which stars Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Shreyas himself in lead roles is a remake of the Marathi film 'Poshter Boyz', which released in 2014. The original Marathi version saw Dilip Prabhavalkar, Hrishikesh Joshi, and Aniket Vishwasrao in pivotal roles making a good run at the box-office. The film is inspired by a real life incident about three porters who found their pictures on a vasectomy poster and the chaos that happens in their life after it.

Priyadarshan's 2006 comedy–mystery film 'Bhagam Bhag' starring Govinda, Akshay Kumar, and Paresh Rawal, which received a great response at the box-office had the final climax plot taken from 1999 thriller Marathi film 'Bindhaast'. The plot of 'Bindhaast' revolves around two girls, who were wrongly charged with a murder of an unknown man and how they prove their innocence. Priyadarshan's Bollywood version which was extensively shot in the United Kingdom even featured Lara Dutta, Jackie Shroff and Arbaaz Khan in pivotal roles.

Mumbai Delhi Mumbai

Satish Rajwade's 2014 romantic-comedy 'Mumbai Delhi Mumbai' which starred Shiv Pandit and Pia Bajpai in lead roles was an adaptation of his own Marathi movie 'Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai' but unlike its Marathi version, the Bollywood flick couldn't make a mark at the box-office. The film is a love story about two people from different cities and how their competitive spirits get them together. The Marathi version had Mukta Barve and Swwapnil Joshi in main leads.
