Ranveer Singh's Kapil Dev may have finally found his coach. The actor is all set to play the legendary Indian cricketer in his next film and if reports are to be believed, Pankaj Tripathi has been zeroed in to play Ranveer’s coach in Kabir Khan’s '83'. Reportedly, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was first offered the role but he had to decline due to the film’s shoot getting delayed and his commitment to other projects during the same time. Ranveer will be playing cricketer Kapil Dev in the biopic based on India’s historic victory at 1983 World Cup at Lord’s Stadium, England.

Ranveer and Pankaj had earlier met for a shoot and they both couldn’t stop praising each other’s performances. At a media interaction for Rohit Shetty’s 'Simmba', Ranveer had hinted at working with Tripathi. The 'Padmaavat' actor had said that he deeply admires his work and had met him too. Ranveer had even expressed a desire to work with him and suggested that they might team up together soon.

So far, the makers have reportedly cast Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Jiva, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Sahil Khattar – to essay the roles of the other cricketers who had played alongside Kapil Dev to score the historic win.

Akshay Kumar decided to treat his fans to something special on the occasion of Republic Day. He shared a new poster from his upcoming film 'Kesari'. Having started shooting for the same last year, Akshay's movie which is based on the Battle of Saragarhi talks about the brave Sikh regiment who although were outnumbered, fought bravely against the Afghan army in 1897.

Sharing the poster on his social media handles, Akshay also wrote the release date of the movie i.e. March 21. "Happy Republic Day. It’s our #70thRepublicDay but our men have been fighting for the country since time unknown. 122 years ago, 21 Sikhs fought against 10000 invaders. #KESARI is their story, in cinemas on March 21," the caption read.

The poster shows the 21 Sikh soldiers posing in the form of a pyramid with Akshay in an orange turban standing in the middle with a rifle raised high up.

Biopics have become a new trend in Bollywood. A lot of movies based on the life of a person have been made and now one more will be added to the list.

According to a report, filmmaker Prakash Jha's next will be based on a life of mathematician Dr Vashishtha Narayan Singh from Bihar. The film will be produced by Vinay Sinha and Priti Sinha. The makers are in Patna to make the announcement today.

Reportedly, Singh was born on April 2, 1942, in Basantpur village of Bhojpur district in Bihar. He had received a PhD on Reproducing Kernels and Operators with a Cyclic Vector from University of California, Berkeley, in 1969. He even worked at NASA and came back to India to teach at institutions. He suffered from Schizophrenia and went missing for a few years.

There may have been a time with action and romance were the two major money spinners in the Bollywood film industry. ‘Raazi’, directed by Meghna Gulzar and starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal is one such inspirational story of local a Kashmiri girl Sehmat, who marries a Pakistani Army officer in order to spy and provide useful intel for her county during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. The film follows her journey from daughter to wife, and then spy as she risks her life to protect her nation.

Produced by Vineet Jain, Karan Johar, Hiroo Johar and Apoorva Mehta and co-produced by Priti Shahani, ‘Raazi’ released on May 11 and has been raking in the moolah at the box office. Apart from its great story and music, the film’s lead stars have also been earning praise from film folk, critics and fans alike.

‘Parmanu: The story of Pokhran’, has long been embroiled in controversies. The film starring John Abraham and Diana Penty in the lead was scheduled to release in November 2017 but will now hit screens on 25 May 2018. ‘Super 30’, starring Hrithik Roshan in the leading role has been piquing everyone's interest, especially after the first look image was released. Bordering on the lines of a biopic, the film will also shed light on this Maths wiz and the role he played in coaching his thirty students to ace their exams and catapult their careers.

Ditching the biopic route, director Zoya Akhtar is set to present her film ‘Gully Boy’, based on the true stories of Mumbai’s street rappers –Divie and Neazy. Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles, the film follows the lives of the rappers and their rise to fame. 'Gully Boy' has been spot predominantly in the city’s Dharavi slums apart from other nook and corners around the city.

Ranveer has been creating quite the buzz with his frequent visits to the recording studios to perfect his rapping skills for the film.

After penning the National Award-winning screenplay for Junglee Pictures’ critical and commercially successful ‘Talvar’, Vishal Bhardwaj has joined hands again with the production house for its sequel. Going by the title ‘Talvar 2’, the film will reportedly revolve around the murder of a seven-year-old student Pradhyumn Thakur, from Ryan International School, Gurgaon, by his school senior.

Vishal will be writing the screenplay and helming the story of the ongoing case, which shocked the country when news first broke about a Class 2 student found with his throat slit in the school bathroom last September.
