Bollywood actors who worked in many patriotic movies

Manoj Kumar, fondly known as Bharat Kumar, needs no introduction. In fact, we can say that the word Patriotism and Manoj Kumar go hand in hand. The veteran Bollywood actor is known for his immense contribution to Hindi cinema, especially for making movies on our nation. He is known for his patriotic films like 'Upkaar', 'Purab Aur Paschim', 'Shaheed' to name a few. Very few might know that after the Indo-Pakistan War in 1965, Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri asked him to create a film based on the popular slogan Jai Jawan Jai Kissan which was then made as 'Upkaar' that had the very famous song 'Mere Desh Ki Dharti...'

The king of romance has also worked in hit Bollywood movies like 'Swades', ' Chak De India' and 'Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani' to name a few. His character Kabir Khan from 'Chak De India' is fresh in minds and he portrayed a perfect Indian hockey coach in the movie. Though 'Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani' was a light-hearted movie, its climax raises the feeling of patriotism to another level. To add on, films like 'Happy New Year' and 'Veer Zara' too had a tint of patriotism.

Sunny Deol's 'Border' is one of Bollywood's greatest war films. J.P. Dutta has put a lot of patriotism and emotions in the movie that shall bring tears to eyes. Post 'Border', Sunny Deol got accepted more in such patriotic roles and films like 'Gadar Ek Prem Katha, 'Indian', 'Maa Tujhe Salaam', and 'Heroes'. His role from 'Gadar' was also appreciated by the audience and he was known for his electrifying dialogues.

Though Akshay Kumar doesn't own an Indian passport, he has expressed his feelings of patriotism through various Bollywood films. Interestingly, Akshay Kumar has of late started working in more movies which have a sense of nationalism and patriotism in them. 'Airlift', 'Baby', 'Holiday', 'Rustom' and 'Gold' are the major examples of the movies which Akshay has done recently. Not just Patriotism but he has also films that focus on social causes like 'Padman' and 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha', which actually spread awareness about the respective causes.
