Arpita and Aayush Sharma reception: Celebs we expect to attend

Salman Khan's sister Arpita has officially become Mrs. Arpita Khan Sharma. Her wedding to Delhi based businessman Aayush Sharma was the talk of the town with the grand ceremony taking place at the Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad. From Aamir Khan to David Dhawan, the who's who of B-town showed up to be a part of the gala celebrations. Social media was abuzz with stars congratulating the newlyweds. While many celebs were conspicuous by their absence, here's a list of celebs we expect to be present at the reception which will be held tonight, (November 21, 2014) at a suburban five star hotel in Mumbai.

Shah Rukh Khan: History was created once again when Salman and SRK met at Arpita's haldi ceremony in Mumbai. Websites were flooded with picture of the two Khans kissing Arpita on the head. In fact, SRK even went on record to say that Arpita was like his sister and he has seen her growing up. While Shah Rukh could not be a part of the wedding ceremony in Hyderabad, he is likely to attend the reception today, as per a report on mid-day.com. King Khan reportedly even gifted Arpita a hamper of designer bags as her wedding gift. It will be good to see this 'Karan Arjun' pair share the dais once again, even if it's only for Arpita's reception. This certainly will be a moment to capture!

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor: Salman has worked with both Saif and Kareena, so it is expected that this royal couple will show up for the latter's sister's wedding reception tonight. In an interview to Lehren TV, Saif even congratulated the newlyweds. He was quoted saying, "Arpita and the Khan family are like family. We wish them all the best and lots of love to them." Bebo, who will soon be seen opposite Salman in Kabir Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan, also could not attend Arpita's wedding functions in Hyderabad. She is known to be a Salman fan and even admitted to having a crush on him as a little girl. So we hope the Chote Nawab and his Begum join in the celebrations tonight.

Hrithik Roshan: Hrithik Roshan put all speculations to rest about his alleged rift with Salman Khan. The Bang Bang star promoted his latest flick on Bigg Boss 8, which Salman is currently hosting. Towards the end of the episode, he dedicated a special sequence with Salman Khan's popular steps on the show and even said on national television that we all love Salman. In fact, Hrithik reportedly even drove to Salman's farm house in Panvel during New Year's Eve last year, though the purpose of the visit remained unclear. We truly hope the Greek god of Bollywood will attend tonight's reception to bless the newlyweds.

Madhur Dixit: The dhak dhak girl of Bollywood has shared a cordial relationship with the Khans, including Salman. The two worked together in films like Saajan, Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam and the evergreen film Hum Aapke Hain Koun! (HAHK), with the latter being a blockbuster at the box office. Madhuri also promoted her film Dedh Ishqiya on Bigg Boss 7 which Salman was hosting. Fans once again got to see Prem and Nisha from HAHK sharing the stage. Talking about Salman, the diva with the 1000 watt-smile had said in her interview on indianexpress.com, "I loved Salman in his earlier films like Saajan, Andaz Apna Apna, Hum Apke Hai Koun! I see a completely different Salman now. Earlier, he was very mischievous but today he is more relaxed and wants to do good work. I find he is a lot more committed," she said.

Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan: While Salman's regular circle is expected to be there tonight for Arpita and Aayush's reception, it will be a treat to see Amitabh and Jaya attending the function tonight. Big B was recently in Goa for the International Film Festival of India and is said to leave for Delhi, as per a post on his Twitter account. "T 1681 - The IFFI 2014 is over .. the speech given .. the accolades received .. dinner had .... now to bed and rest and then travel to Delhi," [sic] he wrote. While he may give a miss to Arpita's reception, we hope Jaya Bachchan attends this star studded ceremony.

Sonam and Anil Kapoor: Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor team up once again for Sooraj Barjatya's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. The two had worked together in Sonam's debut Saawariya where Salman had a cameo. But besides working with her on this project, Sonam's father Anil Kapoor too shares a cordial relationship with him. On a recent episode of Bigg Boss 8, when Arjun Kapoor came to promote his upcoming release Tevar, Salman very sportingly mimicked Anil by saying some famous dialogues from his film. We hope this father daughter duo will make their presence felt at the star-studded ceremony. Sonam's fashion style is always appreciated and it will be a treat for all her fans to see what the diva chooses to wear for an occasion as grand as this one!

Kajol and Ajay Devgn: While Kajol worked with Salman in Pyaar Kiya to Darna Kya which was a super hit, her hubby Ajay and Salman are also said to be good friends. The duo worked together in London Dreams too. In his interview to movies.ndtv.com, the actor spoke about his equation with Salman, "Salman, Sanjay Dutt, and me are very close. Earlier, we used to meet on each other's sets. Now it's become more professional, but we have a great rapport. Whenever we need each other, we stand for each other," he added. We hope to see this couple at this grand affair!

Preity Zinta and Karisma Kapoor: Preity and Salman are said to be good friends and the dimpled beauty has worked with him in films like Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega and Jaanemann. Salman even made a special appearance in Preity's comeback film Ishkq in Paris. Lolo and Salman Khan's friendship has been rock solid and seems to have stood the test of time. Apart from sharing a professional relationship, Karisma and Salman are also said to share a good rapport off the silver screen. In fact, in an interview to dnaindia.com, Bebo spoke about their equation, "Yes, the two got along fabulously... but for me he’ll always be Lolo’s hero. I think they both made a fantastic on-screen jodi. They both have immense respect for each other as friends too." We hope Salman's former heroines grace the occasion with their presence.

Govinda: Salman and Govinda were a hit in the film Partner, but have never worked together after that. Recently, there were news reports that Salman had offered Govinda role in a Hindi film which is a remake of Mahesh Manjrekar's super hit Marathi film Shikshanachya Aicha Gho. In an online interview that the actor gave to a website, he said, "I thought it was a purely art film and I don't want to do an art film at least with Salman. Salman had earlier done a small guest appearance for me but after Partner, I have never tried to involve him career wise, or trouble him or anyone else for that matter. I feel that if someone is good at heart, it shouldn't seem like we are taking advantage of them. We are friends from the time we haven't even done a film together and we never thought our friendship would work career wise too."
