Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan's love story

Amitabh Bachchan, who was of late on a promotional spree for his film ‘102 Not Out’ is probably enjoying the appreciation that has come his way post its release. Amitabh plays Rishi Kapor’s father in the film who happens to be of life, unlike his son. It’s about 27 years later that the duo has shared the screen space together.

Although Amitabh Bachchan has always maintained a low-key business when it comes to talking about his work, he has also never let the popularity get to his head. It was just recently that the megastar was questioned during a media interaction about his wife Jaya Bachchan’s reaction to his film ‘102 Not Out’.

Amitabh Bachchan said in a statement, “My wife usually doesn’t say anything at all about my work.’’ He later added that after seeing the film Jaya said, ‘This small film (102 Not Out) will shine in the face of all the big-ticket outings like the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. She felt that people would embrace this film that was different from everything else around.”

He is an avid social media user. Recently, he took to Twitter to share a candid picture of himself with wife Jaya Bachchan shot during an ad shoot. Big B is looking fabulous as ever in a sherwani while Jaya is all smiles in a pretty dress. The caption of the picture reads,"T 2703 - Its work with the Wife .. and its the ad., for jewellery .. सावधान !! Shooting with the wife .."

He posted few more pictures from the shoot on his personal blog. Here's what he wrote on his blog,"Work with the wife .. and its gentle yet tiring .. happens .. happens all the time .. bear it transcend it , ride above it and then lay relay for the potato race - a potato in the bowl of a spoon, held with both hands .. and Krishna watching over you all the time .."

Amitabh-Jaya team up for R Balki's next

Amitabh Bachchan and his better half, Jaya, who were vociferously cheering son Abhishek's kabaddi team, Jaipur Pink Panthers, were last seen on-screen together in 2012 in Ganga Devi, their make-up man, Deepak Savant's Bhojpuri film. Their last Hindi film was Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi...Kabhie Gham, which released 14 years ago in 2001. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the two are slated to pair up again for R Balki's next. A source close to the development has been quoted in the report as saying that, "It's just a two-day shoot but this cameo is not just significant to the plot but also undoubtedly one of the film's greatest highlights." Clarifying the details further, the source adds, "The Bachchans will not play Arjun or Kareena's parents. Nor are they their mentors or advisors. Amitji and Jayaji are playing themselves in the film, a superstar couple. And they will be filmed in their own Juhu home, Jalsa."

When Amitabh Bachchan saw Jaya Bhaduri on the cover of a magazine: If you thought it was the silver screen where the country's most celebrated couple met, you're wrong! Amitabh Bachchan had taken a good look at Jaya Bhaduri (then) on the cover of a magazine. He always wanted a woman he thought was a perfect blend of traditionalism and a modern outlook, and he thought Jaya came across exactly like that in the picture. He also said that the thing which really caught his attention was her beautiful eyes. It was much later that Hrishikesh Mukherjee came up with the script of Guddi, and Amitabh was really excited at the prospect of being cast opposite such a versatile star.

When Amitabh Bachchan scared Jaya: In the same interview, Jaya Bachchan had revealed how frightened she was when she first met Amitabh Bachchan in person. Jaya recalled how she felt that he was the only one who could ever dictate her to do things. And she would do them. She even confessed how she thought she would do anything to please him. Jaya also said that it was not love at first sight for both of them.

Why Jaya quit acting: The constant offers of the same kind of cinema did not interest Jaya and that was the sole reason of her leaving showbiz, she had said in the interview. The prospect of having a family and spending time with kids came across as a much interesting option, she had said. Jaya also revealed that she did not even speak once to Amitabh Bachchan about this while taking the decision. She urged that it was totally her decision to leave the industry.

'I don't question Amitabh Bachchan': On the constant link-up rumours that the Bachchan family has faced in the past, Jaya says she never questioned Amitabh Bachchan. She had said, "I totally trust my husband and I know this industry. I have never been threatened or felt insecure about anything he did." Big B had said in the interview that he was never bothered by any gossips that surrounded him. And perhaps this was the reason they never came out to agree or disagree to any of the gossips written or said about them.

The best thing about their relationship: Amitabh and Jaya had said in the interview that Abhishek and Shweta are the best part of their relationship. During the making of Sholay, Jaya Bachchan was pregnant with her first child. The entire unit, including Amitabh Bachchan, took care of her. Harsh weather conditions and hectic shooting schedules used to exhaust Jaya. But she recalled in the interview how Amitabh, Hema, Dharmendra and others stood by her throughout the shooting of the film.
