Once again it is that time of the year when we celebrate the coming together of Bollywood biggies under one roof. Yes, we are talking about the most prestigious award functions of the year, Filmfare Awards 2014. The year 2014 saw many path-breaking films which struck gold at the box-office and also won the hearts of the viewers. However, no film is complete without a strong supporting cast. Abhishek Bachchan in Happy new Year: 2014 has been an extremely lucky year for the junior Bachchan. From winning the first Kabbadi League to receiving rave reviews for his performance in the multi-starrer, Happy New Year, Abhishek has been on a roll. Whoever saw Happy New Year was in awe of his performance. His character, Nandu bhide was loved by all age groups and his nagin dance became an instant hit with the masses.

Kay Kay Menon in Haider: Kay Kay is one of the finest actors of the Indian film industry. The actor has created magic on-screen with his powerful acting skills. The 47-year-old who played the role of Haider’s uncle Khurram in Vishal Bhardwaj’s­ adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet imbibed the nuances of the character to the 'T'. Kay Kay's role was that of an advocate and aspiring politician, who thirsts for power. It can easily be termed as one of Kay Kay's best performances till date.

Riteish Deshmukh in Ek Villain: The actor with an innocent face, Riteish Deshmukh, has been mostly associated with comic and romantic films. But Ek Villian gave the actor a chance to do something out of his comfort zone. And Riteish made sure he grabs the opportunity with both the hands. Riteish brought freshness to the character. His brilliant performance as the creepy, frustrated Rakesh, was lauded by the critics and audience alike.

Ronit Roy in 2 States: Actor Ronit Roy has time and an again proved his acting calibre in different roles. The actor has always over-shined in supporting roles - be it in Udaan or Boss. However, his role as the strict father in Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer 2 States was exemplary. The film was a huge success and so was Ronit's grey character. Appreciation started pouring in for Ronit from all sides after the film's release.

Tahir Raj Bhasin in Mardaani: Though the lead actress of the film, Rani Mukerji, hogged all the limelight for the film what with it being touted as her comeback vehicle, the film's antagonist, Tahir Raj Bhasin also became an overnight sensation. His brooding looks and unconventional screen presence has left the audience and critics spellbound. The actor did full justice to the role.
