Celebs who love pulling pranks on co-stars

Lights, camera, mischief! Bollywood may thrive on high-voltage drama and larger-than-life romance, but behind the scenes, it’s often a playground of pranks and playful chaos. Since today is World Laughter Day, here’s a look at some of Bollywood's biggest stars who are just as entertaining off-screen, pulling off hilarious tricks that leave their co-stars stunned and eventually laughing.

2/7

Akshay Kumar

When it comes to pranks, Akshay Kumar is in a league of his own. During the shoot of ‘Gold’, he cleverly disguised himself as a journalist to trick Mouni Roy into revealing details about the film. His playful antics did not stop there. He once borrowed Huma Qureshi’s phone and sent out quirky proposal messages to people from her contact list. Whether it is Siddharth Malhotra or others on set, Akshay’s humor keeps everyone on their toes.

3/7

Sonakshi Sinha

During a 2019 media interaction for ‘Mission Mangal’, Sonakshi Sinha surprised everyone by pushing Akshay Kumar off his chair, leaving him sprawled on the floor. According to India Today, the unexpected act left onlookers stunned, and Sonakshi jokingly remarked that she reacts that way when annoyed. However, Taapsee Pannu later revealed that the entire incident was pre-planned, suggesting it was Akshay’s idea to create a dramatic and playful moment for the media.

4/7

Ajay Devgn

Known for his serious on-screen persona, Ajay Devgn showed a completely different side during ‘Singham Returns’. Teaming up with Rohit Shetty, he crafted an elaborate hoax, convincing the crew that their shooting location was haunted. To sell the story, they even had someone run around draped in white, creating just the right amount of fear before the truth came out, much to everyone’s relief and laughter.

5/7

Ranbir Kapoor

On the sets of ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, a seemingly routine scene involving vodka shots turned unexpectedly real. While Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin assumed the glasses were filled with water, as is standard practice, Ranbir Kapoor had secretly swapped it with actual vodka. The candid reactions that followed made the moment unforgettable, blurring the line between performance and prank.

6/7

Aamir Khan

Often associated with intense roles, Aamir Khan has a mischievous streak that surfaces between takes. While filming ‘Dangal’, he once staged a fake accident by pretending to spill hot coffee on Fatima Sana Shaikh, triggering a startled response before revealing the joke. In another instance, he amused himself by pretending to read palms, only to abruptly end the act with an unexpected gag, leaving his ‘clients’ both puzzled and amused.

7/7

Abhishek Bachchan

During the music launch of ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se’, Abhishek Bachchan pulled off a cheeky prank on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Guiding her to what he casually introduced as their hotel room, he set up a surprise she didn’t see coming. The door opened not to a suite, but to a men’s washroom, leaving both Aishwarya and the unsuspecting occupants momentarily shocked. The confusion soon gave way to laughter once she caught on to the joke.
