A career marked by big films and recognition

Vicky Kaushal has built an impressive filmography with performances that have resonated with both audiences and critics. In 2025, he delivered one of the highest-grossing films of the year, a record that may soon be challenged by Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar.’ His recent films ‘Chhaava,’ ‘Sam Bahadur,’ and ‘Sardar Udham’ further cemented his standing as a versatile actor.

Special honor for ‘Chhaava’

The actor was recently honored at the NDTV Indian of the Year 2025 awards for his portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in ‘Chhaava.’ Playing the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji, Vicky’s performance was widely appreciated for its intensity and historical gravitas, making the recognition a significant milestone in his career.

The first film he wants his son to watch

During a conversation at the event, Vicky was asked which of his films he would want his baby boy to watch first. Reacting to the question, he said, “Wow, the first film. I would like him to watch my first film, ‘Masaan.’ It’s a nice film.” The choice surprised many, as it wasn’t any of his recent blockbusters.

Why ‘Masaan’ holds a special place

Explaining his decision further, Vicky added, “I know it’s a hard film to watch, so maybe later on, not too early on in his life…. But it shows life as life is.” The actor highlighted how his debut film reflects reality with honesty, making it emotionally heavy yet deeply meaningful.

On privacy and the no-photo policy for his child

Opening up about protecting his child’s privacy, Vicky said, “The one principle that I live by is that the thing you fear the most is the thing you attract the most…. Guarding my privacy doesn’t come with the emotion of fear.” He further added, “There might be a slip-off; there might be something that can come out which you might not like… It’s something that we truly guard because it’s very special and sacred.” On the work front, Vicky will next be seen in ‘Love and War.’
