​Varun Dhawan to Ananya Panday: Actors making their OTT debut​

Back in the day big screen actors wouldn't usually dare to appear on small screens but that myth changed with Mr Amitabh Bachchan agreeing to do Kaun Banega Crorepati. Since the advent on OTT, the new platform has become a playground for actors to try out things that they can't attempt on the big screen. Let's take a look at names making their debut on OTT this year.

Varun Dhawan is known for his charismatic performances in Bollywood. Making his big screen debut with "Student of the Year" (2012), he has since delivered hits like "Badlapur," "Judwaa 2," and "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania." His energetic on-screen presence and dance prowess have garnered widespread acclaim.In 2024, he will be making his OTT debut with Raj and DK's Citadel which is being backed by Russo Brothers and stars names like Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Sikander Kher.

​Sidharth Malhotra entered Bollywood with "Student of the Year" in 2012. Known for his charming looks and versatile roles, he has starred in films like "Ek Villain," "Kapoor & Sons," and "Shershaah," portraying diverse characters. He is making his OTT debut with Rohit Shetty's Cop Universe which already has characters like Singham, Sooryavanshi and Simmba.

​Vaani Kapoor made her Bollywood debut with "Shuddh Desi Romance" in 2013.Post that she was seen in films like"Befikre" and "War" but things began to change around for her when her films " Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui" with Ayushmann Khurrana released to rave reviews for her performance. Vaani will be making her OTT debut with Yash Raj Films's OTT venture called Mandala Murders.

Ananya Panday entered Bollywood with "Student of the Year 2" in 2019. Known for her vibrant personality and fashion sense, she quickly garnered attention. With subsequent films like "Pati Patni Aur Woh" and "Kho Gaye Hum Kahan," Ananya carved her niche as a promising talent in the film industry.She will be making her OTT debut in Karan Johar backed show called Call Me Bae. She plays a billionaire in the show who gets disowned by her family owing to a sandal.

Aamir Khan's son Junaid Khan will be making her debut in the world of movies with an OTT release backed by Aditya Chopra. The film is titled Maharaj which inspired by the 1862 Maharaja Libel Case.The film also stars Arjun Reddy fame actress Shalini Pandey, in an interview she shared that Junaid is a very easy human being and was a very good co-actor to work with
