'Kantara: Chapter 1'

Set against the backdrop of divine spirits and an esteemed folklore, ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ stands as a prequel to the original film – which rules the theatres. Directed by Rishab Shetty, the film narrates the traditional roots and culture that led to the present-day scenario. As the trailer was released, fans opined about the clip on social media, appreciating the efforts and determination of the team. Starring Rishab Shetty, Gulshan Deviah, and Rukmini Vasanth, the film releases on October 2, 2025.

'The Smashing Machine'

‘The Smashing Machine,’ starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, revolves around an MMA fighter named Mark Kerr. Directed by Benny Safdie, the film talks about the wrestler making his prominent mark, and the battles with addiction – in the middle of issues with Blunt’s Dawn Staples. The prolific film received a 15-minute standing ovation at the Venice International Film Festival. Adapted from the 2002 documentary, the film will be released on the silver screen on October 3.

'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari'

With madness, confusion, and epic songs, ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ has been winning hearts all over the internet. The plot revolved around the potential marriage of Rohit Saraf’s Vikram and Sanya Malhotra’s Ananya, but their former partners planned a couple of moves that would somehow stop the arranged ceremony. Written and directed by Shashank Khaitan, the catchy songs have been ruling the internet, making people post their dance sequences. Starring Varun Dhawan and Jahnvi Kapoor, the film is set to hit the theatrical screens on October 2, 2025.

'Death of a Unicorn'

‘Death of a Unicorn,’ starring Paul Rudd, Jenna Ortega, and Will Poulter, is a satirical horror-comedy that revolves around corporate greed. Directed by Alez Scharfman, the story revolves around a teenage daughter and her father accidentally killing the mystical creature while going to a retreat arranged by a billionaire boss. However, the boss and his family seek to exploit the unicorn for its curative properties, making a way to shake hands with danger. While the dark fantasy was released in theatres in March, it is all set to stream on JioHotstar from September 28, 2025.

'Genie, Make a Wish'

The opposite attracts trope… but make it a fantasy! An emotionally distant woman awakens the Genie (who really is Iblis/Satan), who has been asleep in the lamp for 1000 years. He wants to prove that humans can’t resist corruption, and he seamlessly creates problems that no one could have assumed. Starring Bae Suzy as Ka-young and Kim Woo-bin as Genie, the 12-episode series will be released on October 3, 2025, on Netflix.
