It is learnt that the actress has now invited Rushdie for her birthday bash on January 24, and from what we hear he is most likely to attend the party. Interestingly, she wants to have her birthday bash at the posh seaside eatery in Mumbai where she was introduced to Rushdie, who is presently holidaying in that city, on the night between January 10 and 11.
Rushdie, who was accompanied by Parmeshwar Godrej entered the place post-midnight to meet industrialist Gautam Singhania and other friends. Soon thereafter, Riya, who waltzed in at 1 am in a stunning backless-dress, caught his attention. After some time, both Parmeshwar and Riya’s friends left the venue but Riya and Rushdie stayed on till dawn. The two got along like a house on fire and left only after having exchanged numbers and fixing up the date for their next meeting.
Sen confirmed that she is planning to celebrate her birthday and also invited Rushdie, but refused to divulge any further details.
However, a close friend of the actress spilled the beans. She said, “Riya has zeroed down on two venues. One of them is the restaurant where she had met Rushdie for the first time.”
It may be noted that while Riya stays in Mumbai’s Juhu area along with her sister Raima, Rushdie is also staying at Parmeshwar Godrej’s bungalow in the same locality.
Sen’s guest list for the January 23 party will include relatives and close friends from the industry. A close friend of the actress informs, “Riya will definitely invite Kareem Morani, Sohail Khan, Aftab Shivdasani, Ashish Chaudhary and his wife Samita Bangargi. They are all very close to her.”
