'Thama' to 'Mirage': Movies releasing this week

The Diwali week might get you crackers and sweets, but the spicy, mystery-filled drama is all on the big screens. From the imaginary supernatural world to the fictional script of changing the past, the new releases are on track to be released in the upcoming week. As the love echoes in the homes, let’s take a look at the stories that somehow all revolve around fighting for their beloved. Let’s take a look at the films releasing in theatres and on OTT platforms in the upcoming week!

2/7

'Thamma'

Straight from the horror-comedy eerie-verse, ‘Thamma’ revolves around fangs and love. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, the story is about the star-crossed lovers who fight destiny and supernatural forces. With three beholding songs in less than a month, and comedy drama that gives chills, ‘Thamma’ will be released on October 21, only in theatres. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the other cast members of the film include Paresh Rawal, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and a special appearance from Varun Dhawan as ‘Bhediya.’

3/7

'Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat'

Being a moth to her flame, Harshvardhan and Sonam Bajwa star as the lead roles in a lovelorn story. From the yearning to the intense love that almost makes you hate, ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ brings a complex story on the Diwali palette. Directed by Milap Milan Zaveri, the film will be released on October 21, only on the silver screen. Along with aching poetry and music, the other cast members include Sachin Khedekar and Shaad Randhawa.

4/7

'Premachi Goshta 2'

Love is in the air – but not for this man! After blaming his destiny for making him marry a girl (whom he doesn’t have feelings for), he encounters his childhood crush and regrets every single decision. Well, the generous lord gives him a second chance and challenges him to do everything that he feels right – but not without a couple of conditions. Directed by Satish Rajwade, ‘Premachi Goshta 2’ stars Lalit Prabhakar, Rucha Vaidya, and Ridhima Pandit, along with Swapnil Joshi and Bhau Kadam. The quirky love story will be released on October 21, only on the big screens.

5/7

'Dilmaar'

From the pen of the ‘KGF’ dialogue writer M. Chandramouli, ‘Dilmaar’ revolves around the poles apart perspective of ‘what love means?’ Starring Ram Gowda, Aditi Prabhudeva, and Dimple Hayathi, the lead characters circle the dilemma of whether to fight destiny for the man you love or to wait till destiny gives you one. However, some claim that being a single ordinary man is the best choice. The heartbreaking love story will be released on October 23 on the theatre screens.

6/7

'Godday Godday Chaa 2'

The women are taking over the traditional ceremonies from men – and they can’t wait to add humor and laughter to this week. A sequel to the national-winning award film, ‘Godday Godday Chaa 2,’ promises to pick up where it left off. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film cast members include Ammy Virk, Tania, Gurjazz, Nikeet Dhillon, and Gitaj Bindrakhia. Sonam Bajwa, the shining star, will be missed in the upcoming sequel. The humorous film will be released on October 21, 2025, only in the theatres.

7/7

'Mirage'

Jeethu Joseph is back with another mystery story, where a woman’s fiancé suddenly vanishes into thin air. As she is determined to find him, she contacts her friend, who is a digital investigative journalist. Starring Aparna Bhanushali and Asif Ali in the lead, the other cast includes Hakim Shahjahan, Hannah Reji Koshy, and Saravanan. The thrilling film will be released on October 20 on SonyLiv.
