Ghai revealed that the Sanskrit version is sung by Kavita Krishnamurthy who sang the original Hindi song from the film.

Talking about the making of the song, Ghai said, "I am very happy that around 21 students from Whistling Woods International have together with me made the Dil Diya Hai Jaan Bhi Denge song from Karma in Sanskrit. Kavita Krishnamurthy who sang the original song has also sung the Sanskrit version. We will be releasing that song on August 9 in association with Saregama.”

“We made this song in Sanskrit because the language has its own Rasa. You’ll feel that the song is yours. We decided to gift this song to the nation. We’re releasing it on the same day Karma was released i.e. August 9," added Ghai.

Subhash Ghai’s Karma was the top-grossing Hindi film of 1986 and featured an ensemble star cast including Dilip Kumar, Nutan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher, Sridevi, and Poonam Dhillon.
