Shraddha Kapoor chooses her roles with family guidance: ‘We all give her our perspectives,’ says aunt Padmini Kolhapure

Veteran actress Padmini Kolhapure recently shed light on how her niece, Shraddha Kapoor, selects film roles with a blend of family support and personal instinct. Padmini revealed that Shraddha doesn’t rely solely on her own judgment when it comes to choosing projects. Instead, she takes the time to consult her close-knit family, including her mother Shivangi Kolhapure, sister Tejaswini, father Shakti Kapoor, and aunt Padmini herself.

“She discusses everything with us. We all give her our perspectives—be it me, her mom, her father, or even my husband,” said Padmini during her conversation with IANS. This open communication, according to her, allows Shraddha to weigh the pros and cons of each offer carefully before committing to a project. Still, despite seeking input from family, Shraddha ultimately makes the final call based on her instincts.

The Kapoor-Kolhapure family has a rich legacy in Indian cinema, and that supportive background has clearly played a role in shaping Shraddha’s thoughtful approach. Padmini, herself a noted actress from the 1980s, is Shivangi Kolhapure’s sister. Shivangi, a former actress, is married to veteran actor Shakti Kapoor and is the mother of Shraddha and Siddhanth Kapoor.This collective experience and film background seem to provide Shraddha with a strong and grounded framework. The actress, who has starred in hits like Aashiqui 2, Stree, and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, continues to chart a balanced course in her career, blending commercial appeal with meaningful storytelling.
