Rajpal Yadav is currently serving a prison term in Tihar Jail in a Rs 9 crore check bounce case. After he surrendered himself due to lack of money to the jail, actor Sonu Sood first came forward and urged everyone to help. Today, the Delhi High Court will be hearing the bail plea of the actor. He had appealed for the same, to reportedly attend his niece's wedding. Now, Sonu has shared a post again, hoping that the verdict will be in favor of Yadav. Let's take a look at it.
Sonu Sood prays for Rajpal Yadav's relief in the Rs 9 crore debt case
Sonu Sood took to his X account to express that he prays for a positive outcome in Rajpal Yadav's case ahead of the hearing. He wrote, "Today is an important day for our brother Rajpal Yadav bhai. Let’s not let the momentum die, we stand with him and will keep going till things are right."

Sonu Sood was the first to come and extend his support to Rajpal Yadav
After Rajpal Yadav surrendered at Delhi's Tihar jail, Sonu Sood took to his social media and wrote, "Rajpal Yadav is a gifted actor who has given years of unforgettable work to our industry. Sometimes life turns unfair, not because of talent, but because timing can be brutal. He will be part of my film, and I believe this is the moment for all of us..producers, directors, colleagues to stand together."
He urged everyone to come forward to help the jailed actor in whatever capacity they can. His note further read, "A small signing amount, adjustable against future work, is not charity, it’s dignity. When one of our own is going through a tough phase, the industry must remind him he’s not alone. This is how we show we are more than just an industry."
More about Rajpal Yadav's case
The actor, reportedly, failed to repay the loan of Rs 5 crore that he took for his directorial debut, 'Ata Pata Lapataa', in 2010. Over the years, the interest piled up, and the current debt amount is almost Rs 9 crore. In the same case, the actor had served a three-month jail term in the year 2018.
The Delhi HC directed the actor this year to surrender himself at the Tihar jail, as he dishonored his commitment to the court. The actor did the same on February 5, 2026.
