Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa: A look back at the soon-to-be parents'​ dreamy wedding​

In the modern world, Patralekhaa and Rajkummar Rao are still redefining love stories. Their grounded partnership, which has lasted for 13 years and counting, inspires many. They joyfully celebrated their marriage in November 2021 and are now cheerfully expecting their first child as of July 2025. Their small, different wedding broke conventions—such as the bride applying sindoor to the groom and skipping haldi and sangeet—and showed respect for one another and modern ideals. Patralekha displayed modern values by putting on sindoor on Rajkummar Rao to mark their wedding.

The special day

Their wedding, which was held on November 15, 2021, at the Oberoi Sukhvilas Resort in New Chandigarh, was all things beautiful. Family and friends assembled to celebrate the union of Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa. The groom wore an off-white sherwani with a red turban, while Patralekhaa wore a scarlet Sabyasachi lehenga with a Bengali vow embroidered in gold.

Rituals that broke stereotypes

Everyone knows that the bride wears sindoor (vermilion) as a part of tradition in many cultures. However, how many times do we see the groom wearing sindoor? This happened at Rajkummar and Patralekhaa's wedding. where she applied sindoor on Rajkumar. This gesture stood as an example of equality and mutual respect.

​​Heartfelt Gestures And Celebrations

These were among the most memorable days of Rajkummar's life, he said during the film's promotion. Along with the pre-wedding celebrations, Patralekhaa set up a pool party and a white-night party without a mehndi ceremony. The fact that Rajkummar casually mentioned in one of his media interactions that Patralekhaa didn't need mehndi, as her husband already loved her a lot, gives a glimpse into their beautiful bond.

Next chapter - Parenthood

The couple used a cradle visual with the caption - "Baby on the way." Elated parents-to-be shared two heart emojis to announce the arrival of their first child on Instagram on July 9, 2025. Sonam Kapoor, Farah Khan, Varun Dhawan, and Neha Dhupia all sent congratulations in response to Patralekhaa and Rajkummar's post. The announcement marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter that is full of love and equal partnership and is still blossoming.
