Still from Pulan Visaranai. If there was one film that catapulted captain Vijayakanth and superhero Sarathkumar to great fame, it would be Pulan Visaranai. Sarath played a deadly villain in this film that ran to packed houses and is till date considered to be one of the best action thrillers of Tamil cinema. Now, RK Selvamani, is ready to release Pulan Visaranai II after a heated four-hour deliberation with the censor board.
This film, produced by Ibrahim Rowther, has Prashanth in the lead role. The censor board had recommended about 26 cuts and also banned the release of the film, as it contained some scenes that have actors very closely resembling real-life characters. But not one to be fazed with this examination Selvamani is said to have given suitable answers and ensured the release of the film barring one dialogue by actor Prakashraj towards the end. The film, which was given an A certificate, will be ready to hit the screens on May 1. A very relieved and happy Selvamani said that Pulan Visaranai II has several aspects to it that would suit the tastes of the present generation.
