OTT is a boon that has kept the actors alive, says Vikas Shukla

UP born actor Vikas Shukla of Raazi fame talks about his journey ... Read More
For UP actor Vikas Shukla, seen in films like Raazi and shows like Sacred Games, Hush and Jubilee, the journey from a small town Farrukhabad to Mumbai has been a long one. Son of an Army man, Vikas, like most youngsters wanted to be an actor since early age, a dream he fulfilled by joing the FTII and facing a lot of ‘ups and down’ as he says. In a recent chat with us Shukla explained how OTT has come as a boon for actors like him and why actors from UP have an edge over others.
"Actors coming from UP have interesting dialect and excellent hold over Hindi which gives them an edge over actors from other places. In fact, that is why the production of UP-based content is growing a lot because there are a lot of actors from UP in acting now and a lot of OTT stories are centred around UP or nearabout," Vikas shares.

He adds, "OTT is a boon that has kept the actors alive and is giving good work and money. Even though getting work on OTT is not that easy but still a good amount of work is available in the market. Lakhs of actors are fighting to get work in Mumbai and OTT is filling that space to quite an extent."
Talking about his journey, he says, "It’s been 13 years for me in the industry. It is only now that people are coming to know my name and recognising me. I wish to be able to do much more work and get the opportunity to be part of some great projects like Raazi, Soni and Jubilee."
