<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">mumbai: norway''s <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">elling</span>, which was among the five movies in the race for the oscar in the foreign language film category, along with hindi blockbuster <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">lagaan</span>, was produced with state finance, according to jan erick holst of the norwegian film institute.
"it is creditable that a nation, which produces barely 20-25 movies annually, managed to figure among the top five nominations in the category," holst said during an interaction with the film producers guild of india here on thursday. he said aamir khan''s <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">lagaan</span> was scheduled to be released in norway in october, signalling the tapping of the norwegian film market commercially in a big way by indian producers. holst, who is member of a norwegian film delegation on a visit to the metropolis, revealed that a "bollywood film club" was functioning in oslo, where indian art movies were screened. on possibility of shooting films in norway, he quipped, "norway is a very expensive country." he, however, welcomed indian filmmakers to explore the picturesque locations. earlier amit khanna, president of the guild, welcomed the delegation members, including aase mayer, an expert on "films from south" and mona j hoel, writer-director, whose second feature film <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">cabin fever</span> was screened at the ongoing norwegian film festival here on wednesday. filmmaker ramesh sippy, guild vice-president tilakraj magan, producer manmohan shetty and theatre and studio-owner kiran shantaram were present during the interaction. </div> </div>
