No Fourplay for Sherlyn
Actor Sherlyn Chopra recently walked out of her theatre debut titled Fourplay, whose director, producer and actor Vandana Sajnani she didn’t get along with.
Call it a clash of creative interests, but Sherlyn says, “I was quite interested in the project initially as I was to play dual characters which could be very challenging and rewarding for a debutant. I had put my heart and soul in rehearsing for both the parts.

I was so impressed with the play that I even offered to produce it.”
But last week, the maker of the play was shocked when Sherlyn did not show up for a publicity photoshoot with the entire cast. When asked about the reason for abandoning the project without any prior notice, Sherlyn said, “There’s nothing much to say. It was not a last minute cancellation. An actor can surrender to a producer’s vision if and only if he can trust the producer implicitly and I lost that trust in her. Vandana likes to believe that she knows what she’s doing and didn’t want any interference from an actor who was a debutant.
I got cold feet with her vision. I thought she had a great marketing plan in place but she didn’t. I felt that the play has to be marketed aggressively for people to want and come see me in action.” However, Sherlyn has no hard feelings and adds, “The story of the play is highly entertaining. My best wishes for the curtain raiser.”
