‘Made in Heaven’, ‘Mirzapur’, ‘The Family Man’: FIVE most expensive Indian web series

The OTT industry has witnessed a spectacular boom in the past three years. Keeping up with the already established film and TV industries, the digital streaming giants have been churning out exclusive movies and web series. A lot of them have been created on a very high budget, too. From ‘Made in Heaven', ‘Mirzapur’ to ‘The Family Man’, here’s taking a look at some of the most expensive Indian web series out there.

‘Made in Heaven’

Fans are eagerly waiting for the second season of ‘Made In heaven’. Not many know that the first season, which was hugely successful, was made on a whopping budget of Rs 100 crore. The series featured larger-than-life sets and mind-blowing sequences. It starred Shobita Dhulipala and Jim Sharab in lead roles, amongst others.

‘Mirzapur 2’

Mirzapur is one of the most-watched Indian series on OTT. After the super success of the first season, the makers put more money into the second season and made it on a budget of Rs 60 crore. The fans are now eagerly waiting for the third instalment of the movie. Mirzapur series stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi, Divyendu, and others.

‘The Family Man’

After impressing one and all with his brilliant performances in film, Manoj Bajpayee became a superstar on the digital platform with Raj and DK’s ‘The Family Man’. The series has had a successful run of two seasons so far, and a third is in the works. Both the seasons of ‘The Family Man’ have been created on a budget of Rs 50 crore each.

‘Sacred Games 2’

The Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Sacred Games’ was loved by the audience. The first season was made on a budget of Rs 40 crore. However, following the super success of the first season, the makers went all in for the second season and raised a budget of Rs 100 crore for the web series.

‘24’

The Indian version of the popular American series ‘24’ starred Anil Kapoor in the lead role. The official remaking rights were bagged by the production house for an outrageous amount of Rs 100 crore. The story of the series revolves around the life of an agent whose mission is to find the culprit within 24 hours.
