Karan Johar to host Indian adaptation of 'The Traitors': 'I am thrilled to take on the mantle as host for the show'

A esteemed OTT platform will stream the Indian adaptation of BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning global format, 'The Traitors'. The Indian adaptation of 'The Traitors' is currently in production and will see Karan Johar take the reins as host of the thrilling reality show, which has become one of the most popular reality game show formats worldwide.

Vying for the grand cash prize, 20 players will compete in the ultimate game of trust and deception, aiming to unmask the traitors among them. Emerging as one of the fastest-growing reality game show formats in the world, with over 20 countries across continents adapting it for local audiences and languages, the Indian adaptation of 'The Traitors' will premiere on OTT in Hindi, with English subtitles.


This thrilling and captivating original series is the ultimate game of trust and deception that challenges the intellect, wit, and strategic prowess of its players as they compete for a large cash jackpot. Twenty players arrive at a royal palace, hoping to win the accumulated cash bounty amassed through various physical and psychological missions. Players will be identified as ‘innocents,’ but unbeknownst to them, a few among their ranks will be the ‘traitors,’ carefully and secretly chosen at the beginning of the show by the host. In a game of vicious twists and turns, cold-hearted deception, and constant manipulation, the traitors will need to eliminate the innocents—unless the innocents can identify them before it’s too late.
