A Mumbai court on Tuesday sent actor and film critic Kamal Rashid Khan, popularly known as KRK, to 14-day judicial custody after he was arrested by the city police over his alleged defamatory tweets posted in 2020. While his lawyer said the tweets were about the film 'Laxmii Bomb' (later titled as 'Laxmii') starring Akshay Kumar, police did not disclose any details. Khan was arrested at the Mumbai airport late Monday night after he arrived from Dubai. Police produced him before a magistrate's court in Borivali and sought his custody for four days for investigation.

You very well know what I said but simply like to spread misinformation."

The FIR was filed under Sections 44 (injury), 108 (abettor), 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot), 153(A) (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal Code.

An FIR was filed against the star at a Hyderabad Police station and the Cyber Crime City Police under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the IT Act for using derogatory remarks on social media against a woman. Siddharth took a dig at the Badminton player for her tweet on PM Modi's security lapse in Punjab. "Subtle cock champion of the world… Thank God we have protectors of India. Shame on you #Rihanna," he tweeted.
