Kabir Khan on Pankaj Tripathi’s role as PR Man Singh in 83: It is going to be a discovery for the audience

Kabir Khan directed ‘83 promises an enthralling cinematic experience of delving into the World Cup winning moment of the Indian cricket team. One of the key members of the team was PR Man Singh, who managed to pull off many roles and played a critical role, which will be essayed on the silver screen by Pankaj Tripathi.


Speaking about the actor Kabir Khan shared, “For long I have been an admirer of Pankaj Tripathi’s talent. He is one of the most versatile actors that I’ve come across and Pankaj as PR Man Singh in my head was the perfect match. The character of Man Singh is going to be a discovery for the audience. As manager, he was an integral member of the winning team of 1983 and the players often said to me that without Man bhai they would not have pulled it off. Needless to say, Pankaj has done a remarkable job in recreating Man Singh’s character.” ’83 will features Ranveer Singh essaying the role of India’s iconic captain Kapil Dev and traces the journey of winning the coveted title in the world of cricket.



‘83 also features Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, Nishant Dahiya, and Sahil Khattar. The sports drama was scheduled to hit the screens in April 2020 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
