'Is This Legal?': Sushant Singh files NOISE complaint against Mumbai rooftop eatery, alerts Mumbai police
Sushant Singh complained on X about rooftop eatery Trove9 in Amboli blasting loud music past 10 PM at his Mumbai home. He shared a 10:40 PM video, tagging Mumbai Police. Cops forwarded it to Amboli station. Users backed him, citing noise laws and Bombay HC ruling. Known for 'Satya', 'Company'.
Bollywood actor Sushant Singh, flagged a noise issue from a nearby rooftop eatery blasting music late into the night at his Mumbai house. He called out Mumbai Police on social media to check if such sounds are okay post-10 PM.

Video evidence shared

Singh posted a video on X (previously Twitter), captured at 10:40 PM right from his Amboli home. The recording captured a neighboring rooftop restaurant pumping out blaring music well after curfew times, according to him. Even while uploading his grievance online, the racket kept going on. The actor tweeted, “Dear @MumbaiPolice this rooftop restaurant Trove9 next to my residential building has been blaring loud music for the last few nights past 10 PM. Is this legal? This video was recorded at 10:40 PM and the noise is still on at the time of posting this tweet."

Police response

Mumbai Police's official X handle addressed Singh's post, stating the complaint was escalated to Amboli Police Station for action. Numerous platform users chimed in, largely siding with the actor and stressing noise pollution laws. One user posted, “MumbaiPolice @CPMumbaiPolice. Kindly look at this immediately, Loud music is a punishable offense in India.
Using loudspeakers is prohibited from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m."

User support pours in

Another user invoked a court case, writing, “Playing loud music beyond 10 PM violates noise regulations and residents’ right to peace. The Bombay High Court in Jaago Nehru Nagar Residents Welfare Association v. Commissioner of Police (2025) has clearly prohibited such acts. Bars must comply with the law and respect neighbourhood harmony."
