Here's how the 'Housefull' franchise has evolved over the years

One of Bollywood's popular comedy franchise 'Housefull' which first released in 2010 is all set to entertain the audience again in 2019 with the fourth instalment. With the multi-starrer comic caper all set to get back the hit hilarious pair of Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh back on the celluloid, fans are expecting to film to nail at the box office. Meanwhile, here's a look at how the film has evolved over the years.

Housefull

The first instalment of the popular franchise which released in 2010 saw Akshay, Riteish Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta, Jiah Khan and Arjun Rampal in the lead roles. The film revolved around the two couples and how they try to convince their respective family members to agree to their relationship. The film which turned out to be a blockbuster was high on comedy and glamour. Chunky Pandey too managed to grab the limelight with his perfect comic timings as Aakhri Pasta.

Housefull 2

With Akshay, Riteish and Chunky being joined by John Abraham, Asin, Jacqueline Fernandez, Shreyas Talpade, Zareen Khan, Shazahn Padamsee, Mithun Chakraborty, Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor, the makers took to franchise to the next level. The film revolving around two families aiming to marry off their daughters to a billionaire, the twist starts when Akshay and John fake their identities and end up in goon turned billionaire's house. The high glamour quotient brought in by the female lead actors gave the film the much-needed boost.

Housefull 3

After entertaining the audience with back to back 'Housefull' hits, director Sajid Khan was replaced by the enigmatic director and writer duo of Sajid and Farhad Samji. The third instalment which brought Abhishek Bachchan, Nargis Fakhri and Lisa Haydon on-board while leaving out some actors from the previous instalment managed to do a decent business but failed to impress the audience as it had done earlier. Even the trio of Akshay, Riteish and Chunky failed to weave their magic on the silver screen in the third instalment of 'Housefull'.

Housefull 4

With the fourth instalment of the 'Housefull' franchise all set to release today, the makers look adamant to explore untapped territories of fusing reincarnation with comedy. With an all-new female cast joining the likes of Akshay and Riteish, the trailer and songs have turned out to be a hit with the audience. The camaraderie that the lead actors have been displaying while promoting their film has grabbed a lot of attention recently. Apart from that, 'Housefull 4' made headlines in its initial stage when Nana Patekar and Sajid Khan were replaced due to the MeToo allegations against them.
