Govinda has always been known for his signature dance moves and his unique style of dancing. When he is on the floor, he dances with all his heart and like no one is watching him.

When we spoke to the Hero No 1 actor for being the Baap of Bollywood dancing in his era, he said, “I didn’t know how to dance. Dance seekhna meri majboori thi. All the top stars of that time, like Amitabh Bachchan and Mithun Chakraborty were award-winning actors. I had to have some talent beyond acting that could help me stand out. Ghar kaise chalta? I wondered, “Main aisa kya karun jissay aagey nikal payunga?”

He added, “Someone suggested, “Tere picture se zyada tere gaane chalte hai.” All my songs (Aap Ke Aa Jane Se, I Am a Street Dancer, Bam Bam Bambai) were superhits, so I decided why not ace my dancing skills? Jaldi hi mera naam as a dancer hua. Woh karte karte, I started working with the best actors in the industry. I could work with Dilip sahab,
Dharmendraji, Jeetendraji, Shatrughan Sinhaji, Amitabhji, Rajesh Khannaji and I was also recognised as an actor. Nothing was planned.”
