Karwa Chauth is an auspicious festival where wives observe a strict fast, avoiding water and food, from sunrise to moonrise for the well-being and longevity of their husbands. The fast ends after the wife sees the moon through a sieve, and the husband helps her break it with water and sweets. But, over the years, several Bollywood husbands have joined their wives in fasting, showing love and devotion in the process.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are one of the most loved celebrity couple. Their love and respect for each other are truly inspiring. In 2019, Anushka shared a Karwa Chauth photo on X, captioning, “The ones who fast together laugh together.” The couple married in 2017 and are parents to two children, Vamika and Akaay. Virat taking part in the fast shows not just his love but also a modern view of shared traditions, making their relationship a symbol of equality and togetherness.

Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif surprised fans with their wedding in 2021. Vicky observed Karwa Chauth for Katrina, ensuring her comfort. Speaking to Film Companion about fasting, he said, “I am okay with keeping a fast. As actors, we go through diet restrictions and all that so being an actor helps. But she is a Google queen. She asked Google when she’ll be able to see the moon. Google said 8:30 pm. I told her Moon won’t listen to Google, it will come when it wants to. Google can’t predict the movement of clouds. That delay was there and she was like, ‘It hasn’t come.’ I said it’s not like I am calling it. It will come when it wants to. Abhishek Bachchan has quietly fasted for Aishwarya Rai every Karwa Chauth. In 2018, he wrote on X, “Karva Chauth, good luck ladies.... And the dutiful husbands who should also be fasting with their wives! I do.” He previously said, “I don’t believe in it (Karva Chauth), but if my wife is doing something for my health, then it is my duty to be with her. That’s why I will be flying to be with my wife.” Their tradition reflects deep love, respect, and partnership, turning Karwa Chauth into a shared celebration.
