Veteran singer-composer Bappi Lahiri passed away at 69 due to multiple health issues. He suffered from several health complications and died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea). He is survived by his wife, Chitrani, daughter Rema and a son Bappa, who has taken to his dad's musical career. Fans and Bollywood celebrities have taken to their social media handles to pay rich tributes to the singer and composer. Bappi Lahiri's son Bappa is a music composer. He got married to Taneesha and they are proud parents to a baby boy. He stays in Los Angeles. Bappi Da had even shared a photo from their Christmas celebration in LA. His daughter Reema's son is a singer too and has also accompanied his Nana on various reality TV shows. Veteran musician Kishore Kumar was Lahiri's maternal uncle.

His obsession with gold
As per a report, the late singer had a total asset of Rs 12 crore and had 754 grams of gold. He also had a gold-plated disc of his hit songs in his house. Not just chains, he also sported bracelets and striking gold rings. Once, during an interview, he had said that gold is lucky for him.

During an interaction with Kapil Sharma on his comedy show, Bappi da had opened up about the time when the 'King of Pop' Michael Jackson came to Mumbai. He revealed that MJ came up to him and noticed his gold chain with a Lord Ganesha pendant. He said, ‘Oh my God, fantastic! What’s your name? You’re a composer?’ As soon as Bappi da said 'Disco Dancer', MJ said that he liked his song, 'Jimmy Jimmy'.

Bappi Da was known for his maximalist fashion sense. He styled his basic t-shirts with stylish jackets featuring embroidery. Speaking about his traditional looks, he would style his kurta set with jackets and stoles. Not to forget that he accessorised the look with his gold ornaments.

Known as the man of gold, Bappi da had a number of other properties to his name and owned 5 luxury cars. As per a report, Bappi da owned luxury cars including BMW, Audi, Tesla X worth Rs 55 lakh. He also had 4.62 kg of silver jewellery.
