From 'Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke' to 'Dhoom 2': Movies in which Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan's magical onscreen jodi captured hearts

One of Bollywood’s most beloved real-life couples, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, have also shared lovely chemistry on screen. Their pairing has delivered a mix of romance, drama, and style that fans have admired over the years. From their first film 'Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke' together to playing lovers, spouses, and even rivals, their onscreen bond has always stood out. Here’s a look at some of their most memorable collaborations in cinema.

'Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke'

'Dhai Akshar Prem Ke' was the first movie where Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan worked together. In the film, Abhishek played an army officer, and Aishwarya played a young woman trying to escape a forced marriage. The film was a remake of the 1995 Hollywood film 'A Walk in the Clouds', which itself is a remake of the 1942 Italian film 'Quattro passi fra le nuvole.' Though the movie didn’t do very well at the box office, it was the beginning of their journey as an onscreen pair, which fans later loved in many other films.

'Kuch Naa Kaho'

This flick is a romantic drama starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. Set in Mumbai, the film follows the story of a charming young man and a strong, independent woman who slowly fall in love despite unexpected twists in their lives. Directed by Rohan Sippy, the film is known for its soulful music and the on-screen chemistry between the lead pair.

4/6

'Guru'

One of the best biographical dramas directed by Mani Ratnam, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles. The film follows the inspiring journey of Gurukant Desai, a small-town man who rises to become one of India's biggest business tycoons. With powerful performances, especially by Abhishek, and a memorable soundtrack by A.R. Rahman, 'Guru' remains one of the most acclaimed films featuring the real-life couple.

5/6

'Raavan'

The film is a Hindi action-drama directed by Mani Ratnam, starring Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Vikram. Loosely inspired by the epic Ramayana, the film explores the grey shades of its characters, with Abhishek playing Beera, a bandit who kidnaps a police officer’s wife, played by Aishwarya. Set against lush, dramatic landscapes, 'Raavan' is known for its intense performances, A.R. Rahman’s music, and its layered storytelling.

6/6

'Dhoom 2'

The stylish action thriller was directed by Sanjay Gadhvi. The film stars Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, and Uday Chopra. A sequel to 'Dhoom,' released in 2004, the story follows ACP Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan) and his partner Ali (Uday Chopra) as they try to catch a mysterious international thief, Mr. A (Hrithik Roshan). Aishwarya Rai plays Sunehri, a clever thief who becomes entangled with Mr. A. Known for its high-octane stunts, exotic locations, and sizzling chemistry, 'Dhoom 2' was a massive hit and remains a fan favorite.
