Celina Jaitly pens emotional birthday note for her brother Major Vikrant Jaitly who is detained in UAE: 'I fight for you. I will not stop until you are back home, back to Bharat'
Celina Jaitley, who has recently been in the news due to her legal dispute with estranged husband Peter Haag. But before that, Celina had filed a plea in court requesting for help to rescue her brother Major Vikrant Jaitly who is detained in the UAE since 2024. Celina’s family has reportedly been unable to contact him since. Now, on his birthday, the actor penned a moving note filled with love, pain and hope.
She took to social media and wrote, "“Happy Birthday, Bhai… I do not know how to reach you, my baby brother, but I will keep trying. I will not give up on you." Referring to him as her “dearest baby,” she expressed how deeply his absence has affected her life. “You will always be my baby brother, Dumpy—not Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly. The best Mama in the world. Not having you as a part of my life right now is one of the most distressing experiences of my existence.”
Celina went on to share how much she misses the everyday moments they once shared. “I miss us. Our hilarious conversations. Talking about the whole world—family we loved, family we did not like. Our jokes, our endless laughter. I miss our long drives for paan in Mhow after dinner. Evenings at Arabian Ranches in Dubai, with kids climbing all over you. Meeting your course mates. Cold beer by the bonfire in our parents’ garden.”
She also revisited memories that shaped their strong sibling bond over the years. She added, “You writing letters to me from IMA and the Valley. Endless WhatsApp messages during Covid. You planning how you would train the twins, and one more, in squash. Running marathons together in spirit. Dreaming without limits.”
Recalling their last conversation, Celina wrote, “The last time we spoke was on August 26, 2024. That big, typical bitching session we always had. I never realised that I would not hear your voice again after that. Not till today.”
On his birthday, the actor reaffirmed her unconditional support and determination to bring him home. Her note read further, “Today is your birthday, my baby. I want you to know how proud I am of you. How deeply I love you. I stand by you. I fight for you. I will not stop until you are back home, back to Bharat.”
She ended the note on a tender and hopeful note as she said, “Happy Birthday to the best Mama in the world. Juju loves you. Always.”
As of now, no detailed information has been made public regarding the reasons for Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly’s detention. UAE authorities have cited “national security concerns,” but have not revealed specific charges or evidence in court. Celina Jaitley and her family have maintained that the case could involve mistaken identity or external influence.
