Amitabh Bachchan, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn: Celebs who observed Ayyappa Deeksha before their Sabarimala darshan

Devotees of Lord Ayyappa observe Deeksha, a 41 days fast before visiting the Sabarimala temple in Kerala. The fasting highlights the significance of abstinence and austerity, during which devotees wear Ayyappa mala and black clothes, walk barefoot, chant hymns, observe chastity, avoid cutting/shaving hair and remain harmless in principle before visiting the temple. From Amitabh Bachchan to Ajay Devgn and Ram Charan, many celebs too have embarked on this spiritual journey.

After his near fatal 'Coolie' accident, Big B observed Deeksha with full devotion that culminated in his visit to the Sabarimala temple. A picture of Big B from his darshan surfaced on the internet. He shared it and wrote, "going a pilgrimage to the Aiyappa Temple .. Kerala-AP-Karnataka .. soon after recovery from Coolie accident .." [sic]

Ram Charan is currently basking in the success of 'RRR'. He recently arrived in Mumbai dressed in all black, walking barefoot for the success party of the film. Charan observes Ayyappa Deeksha every year for 41 days before visiting the Sabarimala temple.

Ajay Devgn visited the Sabarimala temple in January this year. Before that he observed the Ayyappa Deeksha for 41 days, and as per thr ritual consumed vegetarian food and slept on a mat on the floor. Ajay even shared a short video of himself and wrote, “Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa ��.”

Vivek Oberoi is an ardent devotee of Sabarimala Ayyappa and he has been going to the Sabarimala temple in Kerala for years. Vivek's mother is a Tamilian the actor has the same faith as his mom in Lord Ayyappa.
