Akbar Khan, the director of Taj Mahal and younger brother of the late Feroz Khan and Sanjay Khan, recently played hero in real life as he saved an elderly lady from harassment.
Khan, who stays at Juhus posh Oberoi Enclave, famously known as Jassawalawadi, was coming home on 2nd of Septemeber when a commotion at the entrance of his bungalow caught his attention.

He was furious to see 18-20 goons harassing 60-year-old Nilofeur Wadia, a resident of the same society. The goons were keeping Mrs. Wadia from enter her own residence. She reportedly has a dispute with builder Vikas Oberoi for the last 3-4 years, for which the court case is pending.
Khan, seeing Wadia in distress, stepped out to help her and met with threats from the goons as well, he says. But the fearless Khan refused to give in and asked the goons to step aside. Seeing the situation turning nasty, he then called the police. On his request, two uniformed havaldars enter the scene, but couldnt stop the goons. Akbar then used all his contacts to sort out the problem and, with the help of his staff, escorted Mrs Wadia to her residence.
The story didnt end here. Khan tells us that he was told the next day by Mrs Wadia that all the four tyres of her car had been punctured. Actor and Khans nephew Fardeen Khan, who also stays in the same locality, coming to know of the circumstances, too rushed to help Mrs. Wadia as she was having a problem finding parking for her second car. Fardeen offered to park her car in his bungalows basement. While helping her, he too was mobbed by the same goons who tried to physically abuse him. But Fardeen stood on his ground and refused to budge.
Both Khans have filed separate FIRs against builder Vikas Oberoi. Akbar, who has grown up in the same society, is worried about the exploitation by land mafias. He says, I was shocked to something like this taking place in a reputed society like ours. If such is the case here, then I worry thinking what might be happening in the remote areas of our country. I will fight till my last breath against such injustice. I have complete faith in the law and the police and I am hopeful that they will help citizens in such situations. He is keen on helping anyone who faces similar harassment from builders. This Khan refuses to bend to anti-social activities!
