Aishwarya Rai Bachchan turns 49: Rare photos the iconic diva
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is back in the bay for her birthday celebrations. She was spotted at the Mumbai Airport earlier today, returning home with daughter Aaradhya. Ahead of her 49th birthday on November 1, here’s taking a look at some rare pictures of the beauty queen.
A historic moment
Born to Brinda and Krinaraj Rao, Aishwarya comes from a traditional south Indian family. The actress started her journey with commercials and went on become an international beauty queen. Aishwarya Rai shot to limelight in 1994 when she made the country proud and brought home the prestigious Miss World.
Bollywood debut
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan marked her acting debut in 1997 with maverick filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s ‘Iruvar’. While in Bollywood, she was cast opposite Bobby Deol in ‘Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya’. Seen on the sets of her first Bollywood movie, Aishwarya and Bobby posed with musician Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, who had crooned a special song for ‘Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya’.
Love tales
While they had crossed paths on the sets of Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke (2000), but love blossomed between Aishwarya and Abhishek on the sets of ‘Umrao Jaan’, which they shot for in 2005-06. They got hitched on April 20, 2007. Celebrating their togetherness, Aishwarya had told Filmfare, “The journey’s been like a blink of an eye. It’s great that time is flying by so quickly and we’re not feeling the years. That’s a great sign.
Embracing motherhood
Aishwarya momentarily put her career on hold to welcome daughter Aaradhya, who was born on November 16, 2011. Internet is often flooded with strikingly similar looking pictures of Aishwarya and Aaradhya. Over the years Aaradhya has been on the sets of Aishwarya’s movies, in her vanity van and even accompanied the diva to the French Riviera for the prestigious Cannes film festival. Fondly speaking about her daughter, Ash had previously shared, “I’m not here to dictate to her or choose a life for her. I’m here to be her mom in a way, which I’m discovering on a day to day basis. I just want to see her happy, healthy and grow to be a secure person.”
