1/7

A.K. Hangal

He brought dignity to frailty. A.K. Hangal was the heart of many films, from the Imam Saab role in 'Sholay' to the compassionate father in 'Namak Haraam.'

2/7

Achala Sachdev

Achala Sachdev, known for playing mothers in films like 'Waqt' (1965), 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' (1995), 'Chandni' (1989), and 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' (2001), had a career in the film industry for over thirty years, including around 130 films. Starting in the 1940s, she made an impact with her poise that will long be remembered in Indian cinema.

3/7

Iftekhar

Iftekhar was a legendary Bollywood actor and is best remembered for his performances as police commissioners and as authority figures in films such as 'Zanjeer,' 'Deewaar,' and 'Don.' With his quiet authority and dignified presence, he represented law and order and left a lasting impact on the cinematic legacy.

4/7

Leela Mishra

The eternal dadi/mausi of Bollywood, Leela Mishra, has appeared in over 200 films and always brought wit and warmth to the role of the stereotypical elderly person—she was always memorable, yet rarely acknowledged.

5/7

Rajendra Nath

Rajendra Nath was a well-loved comedic staple of Indian cinema in the 1960s and 1970s, known for his notable partnerships with Shammi Kapoor in movies such as 'Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai' and 'An Evening in Paris.'His comedic timing and performance made him a pleasant and memorable part of Indian movie culture during that time period.

6/7

Shubha Khote

Comedian, vamp, or "good supporting role," Shubha Khote never allowed screen time to dictate her presence on screen. Her on-screen pairing with Mehmood remains iconic in comic folklore.

7/7

Sudhir (Bhagwandas Mulchand Luthria)

Sudhir, the quintessential Bollywood villain with his pencil moustache and slicked-back hair, was the "go-to" man for smug secondary roles as the secondary villain, opposite the primary lead. He played the right blend of sleaze, and it looked flawless, whether it be 'Satte Pe Satta' or 'Deewaar.'
