5 Times Urvashi Rautela sparked a meme fest - From the parrot clutch at Cannes to a temple in her name

Urvashi Rautela, the glamorous and confident actress, seems to be under the limelight, not only for her performances in the cine-world, but also for the controversies she stirs up on social media. With her stylish outfits on international red carpets, sometimes quirky responses in interviews, Urvashi has turned out to be the go-to muse for meme-makers and social media users alike. Here are five of the best times Urvashi Rautela sparked a meme fest.

2/6

Cannes 2025: The parrot clutch look

Urvashi Rautela wore a rainbow-hued Michael Cinco gown, a tiara, and a crystal-encrusted parrot-shaped Judith Leiber clutch worth close to ₹4.7 lakh at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Social media went into overdrive with memes, with "Moulin Rouge meets Mayur Vihar," "is it a satire on camp?" "Urvashi Rautela becomes the first Indian woman to turn into a parrot at Cannes," and more taking over Instagram and Twitter.

The style was all over the fashion detectives' feeds and was reposted by fashion watchdogs such as Diet Sabya, making it go fully viral.

The Urvashi Temple Claim

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan in April 2025, Urvashi asserted, "There is a temple named after me... If you go to Badrinath, there is a Urvashi Temple beside it." She also mentioned wanting one in her name in South India, too. The rumor was quickly shot down by local religious officials, who made it clear the temple is dedicated to the mythical character Urvashi, not the actress.

The internet reacted with a meme fest, making fun of her egotism and the puzzlement that her statement had caused.

4/6

When Urvashi Rautela said she is the best promoter after Shah Rukh Khan

In a 2025 interview with Yuvaa, Urvashi dared to say, "After Shah Rukh Khan, Urvashi Rautela is the best promoter." She further claimed to be rated number 1 on IMDb for her movie 'Daaku Maharaj.' Social media users ridiculed her "delulu" behavior, creating memes equating her self-promotion abilities with that of Bollywood's largest star and questioning her reality.

5/6

'Dabidi Dibidi' song from 'Daaku Maharaaj'

The hit song 'Dabidi Dibidi' from movie 'Daaku Maharaaj' (2025), sung by Urvashi and Balakrishna, became viral for its choreography rather than its music, which was heavily criticized as obscene and inappropriate. Memes galore, especially when Urvashi herself unwittingly posted some of the trolling material on her Instagram stories, turning the meme fest into full swing.

6/6

The infamous "First Indian actress to…" statements

Urvashi has a habit of making bombastic, not-at-all-verifiable statements in interviews-about being the "first Indian actress to…" accomplish this, that, or the other. This was such a consistent pattern that it became an ongoing meme online, with users taking to social media to make memes of her self-styled accomplishments, particularly during big events like Cannes.
