The film which is based on solving a social issue of open defecation that prevails in India opened up with decent numbers of collecting Rs. 12 crore nett on the first day of its release.

With such a good response at the box office, the film had broke the trend of low box office collection for the past few releases in Bollywood. The movie was much-anticipated due to which it earned relatively well as compared to the other hyped movies.
Reportedly, the film has cashed in as much as Rs 94 crore in its first week at the box office. And now with the total collection heading towards Rs.97.75 crore, the film will soon enter the Rs 100 crore club.

Day 9 and 10 being the weekend days, more collection is expected and the film might enter the 100 crore club by Monday. However, a few new releases might lower its collection.
'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' is a love story set in the Nandgaon region of Mathura and addresses the issue of open defecation.
