Dhollywood actors who came from a theatre background

Pratik Gandhi who is currently reeling in the success of his web-show started his journey on the stage. He has been a part of several well-known plays like Mohan No Masalo. He said, “Theatre has given me everything and it will always remain my first love.”

Deeksha too started her journey in acting with theatre. In a chat with us some time back she said, “I can’t wait to go back on stage. I really want to do a play or a monologue this year.” Deeksha then went on to do several Dhollywood films. This year, she steps into Bollywood.

Abhinay is equally desperate to go back on stage as his peers are. Abhinay has been a well-known theatre actor for a long time. The stage actor who has also done films holds theatre, the closest to his heart.

Theatre is a live medium and you get instant responses but I enjoy doing any medium that lets me experiment. Both theatre and films are a very different and unique mediums,” said Netri. Netri who has been a part of both theatre and films started her career with theatre.

Dipna says, “There’s nothing better than the audience cheering and shouting once more.” Dipna has performed plays in countries like USA. She too, like most of the actors started her career on stage and has been in love with the medium.

Mansi says it was theatre that took her to London when the show was staged there. “While I was at college, theatre used to attract me. So, when I was offered a play by Chirag Modi, while still studying, I took it up. From college I directly went on to doing professional plays and performed in London twice.”
