Yashvi Bagga Bets Big on Vertical Storytelling with New Instagram Series ‘Dev Bhoomi’
For the past six years, creator, writer and producer Yashvi Bagga has been pushing the boundaries of short-form storytelling, helping shape the evolution of vertical content into a format capable of delivering the emotional depth and engagement traditionally associated with long-form cinema.
Among India's early pioneers of cinematic vertical storytelling, Bagga has grown her audience from 300,000 to more than 1.3 million followers through original narrative-led intellectual properties. Her success lies not only in audience growth but in building a dedicated community that actively anticipates each new episode. With average episode viewership exceeding 7 million and many crossing the 10-million-view mark, her stories have consistently demonstrated the appetite for serialized digital narratives.
Her previous original IPs have amassed impressive numbers. Anjaana Anjaani, a 25-episode series, generated more than 230 million views, while Mere Brother Ki Dulhan attracted 170 million views across 14 episodes. Her most successful project to date, Humaari Adhuri Kahaani, ran for 100 episodes and garnered over 1.2 billion views, eventually being extended due to overwhelming audience demand.
Now, Bagga is preparing to launch her fourth and most ambitious series yet, Dev Bhoomi, on Instagram.
A military romance thriller wrapped in mystery and emotion, Dev Bhoomi centres on Bhumi, a young woman struggling to cope with the loss of her husband, Dev, who is declared dead after going missing during a military operation. Unable to move on, she continues texting his old phone number every day—sharing stories from her life, expressing her grief, and speaking to him as though he were still there.
What she does not know is that the number has been reassigned. On the other end is Krish, a stranger who silently reads her messages and becomes an unseen witness to her heartbreak. Over time, their unexpected connection deepens, helping Bhumi rediscover moments of joy and companionship. Just as she begins to heal, the impossible happens: Dev returns alive.
The series unfolds around a compelling emotional dilemma—when someone disappears from your life, does love disappear with them?
Blending romance, suspense and emotional drama, Dev Bhoomi is designed for an audience that engages with stories beyond passive viewing. Through discussions, fan edits, screenshots and social media conversations, viewers become participants in the narrative, turning each episode into a shared cultural experience.
With its female-led perspective, high emotional stakes and mystery-driven plot, Dev Bhoomi marks another significant step in Bagga’s effort to prove that vertical storytelling can be every bit as immersive, layered and emotionally resonant as traditional screen entertainment.
