Milind K Deouskar assumes additional charge as metro railway general manager
Milind K Deouskar, General Manager of Eastern Railway, has taken over the additional charge of General Manager of Metro Railway with effect from June 1, 2026, following a directive from the Ministry of Railways. This is the second time he has been entrusted with the role, having briefly held the additional charge for three weeks in September 2025.
A 1987-batch officer of the Indian Railway Management Service, originally from the Indian Railway Stores Service, Deouskar brings with him extensive experience across a range of leadership positions in Indian Railways. During his career, he has served as Additional Divisional Railway Manager and Divisional Railway Manager of Pune Division, Secretary in the Railway Board, Principal Chief Materials Manager at Integral Coach Factory in Chennai, and Chief Materials Manager in both Central Railway and Konkan Railway Corporation.
A mechanical engineer and alumnus of Maulana Azad College of Technology (now NIT Bhopal), Deouskar has completed advanced management programmes at INSEAD in Singapore and Malaysia, and attended a workshop on strategic management issues at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
He is known for encouraging sports and cultural activities within the Railways and was honoured with the National Railway Award in 2003 by the Railway Minister for his outstanding contributions and achievements.
