Tapan Sinha Memorial Hospital strengthened its healthcare infrastructure with the inauguration of a new Cataract Surgery Unit and a dedicated ICU/SICU/HDU facility on May 23, 2026. The new units were inaugurated by Shri Subhransu S. Mishra, General Manager, Metro Railway, in the presence of senior medical officials including Dr. Nataraj B, Principal Chief Medical Director, Eastern Railway; Dr. Anjana Mal, Principal Chief Medical Director, South Eastern Railway; and Dr. Gopa Majumdar, Principal Chief Medical Officer, Metro Railway. Several Metro Railway officers and members of the Metro Railway Women's Welfare Organisation (MRWWO), led by its President Smt. Madhumita Mishra, were also present on the occasion. The newly established facilities are expected to enhance both specialised eye care services and critical care treatment for patients, offering improved access to advanced medical support under one roof.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mishra expressed confidence that the expanded infrastructure would benefit employees, their families and other eligible beneficiaries by providing better healthcare services and treatment facilities.
The initiative forms part of Metro Railway's employee outreach and welfare programme, aimed at strengthening healthcare support and improving medical services for its beneficiaries.
