A catty affair

When close to sixty kitties assembled at

Yeshwant Club

hall on Sunday, it was truly a treat for all the cat lovers in town. Persian, Bengal, Himalayan, Turkish, Siberian, American Bobtail and Angora cats along with their owners came down from Bhopal,

Ujjain

, Mhow and

Indore

to meet and greet each other. The show witnessed a lot of enthusiasm and exchanging of notes among the owners and others who had come just to see the variety of cats. Alisha Kauser, whose cat was dressed in fancy costumes and accessories says, “I love to dress up my kitty. I have got a box full of hair accessories for her, and keep dressing her up to take pictures.”

Other cat owners like her have also invested in special grooming products for their kitties. “We get special shampoos, conditioner and supplements for her all the way from Delhi. The conditioner keeps my cat’s fur shining and healthy and the supplements keep him healthy and active. I researched a lot on maintenance of Chimera cats and then got the products” shares Preeti Bhatia.

Despite having a lot of cat lovers in attendance, the event still fell short on numbers. “Cat shows are not as well-known as dog shows. If we keep holding more such shows, I think more people will come not only to participate but also to watch and know more about cats” shares organiser Ajay Jain.
