Chirabandan Gane’ celebrates Tagore’s musical legacy
A cultural evening, Chirabandan Gane, celebrated Rabindranath Tagore's musical legacy with performances by esteemed Rabindra Sangeet artists Sayantani Gupta and Suranjan Roy. Gupta captivated the audience with songs from Tagore's iconic plays, enhanced by the Urmila Dance Troupe. Roy, son of the legendary Subinoy Roy, followed with his own acclaimed solo recital, further enriching the tribute.
A cultural evening titled Chirabandan Gane paid tribute to the rich musical heritage of Rabindranath Tagore through a thoughtfully curated programme featuring celebrated Rabindra Sangeet artistes Sayantani Gupta and Suranjan Roy.The event opened with a solo performance by Sayantani Gupta, who presented songs from 12 of Tagore’s renowned plays, including Tasher Desh, Dakghar, Shapmochan and Chirakumar Sabha. Her renditions highlighted the depth and beauty of Tagore’s dramatic compositions and received warm appreciation from the audience. The concluding songs of her segment were accompanied by performances by the Urmila Dance Troupe.The second half featured an acclaimed solo recital by Suranjan Roy, Rabindra Sangeet singer and son of legendary singer Subinoy Roy.
